Voyage of art discovery on SNCF train
Train of Arts and Civilisations started travelling along Transilien Line E last week
SNCF is once again bringing art to commuters in the Île-de-France.
Last week, 400 photographs and paintings from the Musée du quai Branly-Jacques Chirac made their first journeys on the Transilien Line E, which runs between Haussman Saint-Lazare and Chelles-Gournay or Tournan, passing by the Magenta Station, Rosa Parks or Noisy-le-Sec.
The 'Train of Arts and Civilisations' features works from Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas.
It is the latest in a number of collaborations between the train operator and the museums of Paris. Since 2012, commuters have been able to enjoy an unusual journey to work in a number of specially decorated carriages, including the Versailles train (line C), the Impressionist and Musée d'Orsay trains (line J), the 120 Years of Cinema train (line D) and the Nature and Patrimony train (line N).
