Wealth tax deadline June 15

People who are resident in France and eligible to pay wealth tax have until Monday to declare it at their tax office.

PEOPLE who live in France have until June 15 to pay their impôt sur la fortune (wealth tax) if they are eligible.

The tax has to be paid by all French-resident people with total net assets that were worth €790,000 or more on January 1 (following various deductions including 30% of the value of your main residence).

The tax is also paid by people resident elsewhere who have property in France worth more than the threshold amount. The deadline for non French-residents is July 15 for other residents in Europe (including Monaco) and August 15 for those resident elsewhere in the world.

The tax is your responsibility – if you have paid it before you should have received a form, but if not you can print one off online at the official tax website

You have to declare and pay it at the same time, usually by cheque, though bank transfers are also allowed. In France you have to declare to the service des impôts des enterprises or the service des impôts des particuliers (tax office) in the area where you live.
For other European residents (not including Monaco) and residents world-wide the tax has to be declared to la recette des impôts des non-résidents (RNR), TSA 50014, 10 rue du Centre, 93465 NOISY LE GRAND
(Tel: 33 1 57 33 82 00), and Monaco residents have to declare it to service des impôts des particuliers de Menton, 7 rue Victor Hugo, 06507, MENTON Cedex.
