What is the weather forecast for Christmas weekend in France?

Warm temperatures are forecast for the Christmas weekend bringing with them a mixed bag of weather that is unlikely to include snow for low-lying areas. We look at what to expect and where.

This Christmas will be warm with average temperatures forecast at 3°C above seasonal averages according to La Chaine Météo, owned by Le Figaro.

On Saturday December 23

For most of France, the day will be overcast, windy and dry with some sunny spells in the afternoon.

The Paca and Occitanie regions will be sunny, with highs of 15°C forecast in Montpellier and Perpignan.

The north-east, from Belfort, to Strasbourg and as far south as Chaumont, will see showers throughout the day.

On Sunday December 24

The sunny weather will progressively spread to cover most of the country over the course of the day, with some showers persisting in Metz.

Highs of 16°C are forecast in Perpignan

On Monday December 25

Most of France south of Nantes and Strasbourg will enjoy a sunny Christmas day. However, much of the north will be overcast and showers will spread along the channel coast and Brittany.

Highs of 15°C are forecast in Nice, Montpellier and Perpignan
