What will you do about my vote?

SO, THE new president will change the tax regime in France – which may or may not have an effect on me. In his speech to the people of Tulle, shortly after the announcement of the election result, François Hollande said he would work for all the people, those who voted for him and those who did not. Will he, however, work for those who were unable to vote either for or against him? As a fiscal resident of France, I must pay taxes – I do this in order to contribute to the society in which I have chosen to live – but the law that disenfranchises me from voting for those who impose those taxes upon me is wrong.
Yes, I could gain the vote by becoming a French national: but that is not the point. I am hopeful that in his stated aim for equality the new president, together with the European commissioners and parliament, may address this small but important issue.
