A section of the A8 motorway will be closed eastbound for two consecutive nights at the start of next week, route operator Vinci announced.

The motorway will be closed from its startpoint (along the A7) running eastbound to where it meets the A51, just outside of Aix-en-Provence.

Vehicles will not be able to access the road running in this direction between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 the following morning.

Necessary works include painting and repairing guardrails along the route.

Drivers are being advised instead to continue southbound on the A7 to Septèmes-les-Vallons, and then switch to the A51 eastbound. Once reaching Aix-en-Provence, they can rejoin the A8 motorway.

It is also possible to use secondary (departmental) roads in the local area.
