Reader question: My teenage son is due to go and spend time with his father over Christmas. Will he be allowed to travel for this reason?
If France drops its lockdown as planned on December 15, then yes, this will be possible.
France Diplomacy states that “where possible, we recommend ‘unaccompanied minors’ services offered by airlines from the age of five years upwards”.
If France does not drop its lockdown on December 15, then it is not thought that travel will be possible, unless it is for an emergency reason.

If it is an emergency family situation, your son should carry with him an exemption form (attestation de déplacement) stating this reason.
