Record levels of foreign investment in France were announced at a recent business summit.
Around €20 billion of foreign investment from 200 international partners was announced at the eighth edition of the Choose France summit, held earlier this week at the Palace of Versailles.
This is €5 billion more than that held in 2024, and almost double the amount pledged in 2022 (€10.8 billion).
The figures make France the most attractive country in Europe for international investment according to the French government, however figures from news agency Reuters claim Germany received over €23 billion of foreign investment in 2024. The 2025 figures for Germany are not yet available.
Modern sectors including digital technology and renewable energies saw major investments, as did traditional businesses in industry, healthcare, food, and textiles.
In particular, a major investment from South Korean firms in the metals industry (with these materials used for renewable energies) was recorded, as was the development of a new film studio.
