America’s Dunkin' doughnuts chain to open outlets in France

US chain Dunkin’ doughnuts is to open in France after striking a franchise deal with fast food group QSRP. 

The first outlet is set to open in Paris in 2025. 

QSRP (Quick Service Restaurant Platform) will have the rights to grow the brand in France after making an agreement with Dunkin’ parent company Inspire Brands.

Founded in 1950 in Quincy, Massachusetts, the doughnut giant was known as Dunkin’ doughnuts until 2019, when it was renamed Dunkin’ to coincide with a larger focus on drinks.

Today, it has branches in 38 countries. 

It will not be the first US doughnut shop to make a splash in France. Competitor Krispy Kreme opened its first store in December 2023 in Paris, with curious Parisiens queuing up through the night to be one of the first to try the glazed treat. 

The queue may be explained by the fact that the first 10 people through the door were promised a year’s supply of free doughnuts.
