Owners of 2CVs are being invited to go on a rally/treasure hunt
OWNERS of 2CVs are being invited to go on a rally/treasure hunt through the Plus Beaux Villages de France (PBVF) from May 15-21.
The PBVF association, which designates France’s prettiest villages (they must also be lively and with plenty to do), is organising a rally linking about 30 of its sites along a route from Paris to Cannes.
Each day will involve a 300km journey, with challenges to solve along the way that will lead to a clue in the village where each car and its team of up to four stops for the night. On the last day, all six clues will help teams to solve a final one and win a first prize.
It is possible to rent a 2CV if you do not own one; food and lodging is included in the entry fee. Registration has to be by April 8 (see www.les-plus-beauxvillages-de-france.org).
Another highlight for the association this month is its annual wine market, which is in Rodemack (Moselle). Vineyard owners from around the PBVF will be taking their wines to the event, to be held in the vaulted cellars of the town’s old citadel.
