GPS error leads tourists to farm

Drivers heading to Toulouse regularly directed into the courtyard of farm house in Pouzac

A GPS glitch means tourists heading to Toulouse are being directed to a farmhouse in Pouzac.

Owner Valérie Soucaze said some days up to six to eight vehicles arrived at her farm – particularly during the summer when tourists, unfamiliar with the roads, visit the area.

“It’s been just over a year that people started arrived here thinking they were taking the route to Toulouse,” she said.

Among the accidental arrivals included several camping cars which struggled to turn around and a sports car which reversed into one of the animal enclosures trying to leave the farm.

Ms Soucaze told newspaper La Depeche that she didn’t want to make a big thing of it and added: “At the moment there are much worse things happening in farming.”

Pouzac mayor Marcel Prieu said the commune was going to place a road sign on the way to the farm warning of the GPS problem.
