Loto winner saves his small business

20 million euro jackpot will help businessman keep his struggling company afloat and pay staff and pay suppliers

A PARIS businessman who won 22 million euros in the Loto has said the
money will help him to keep his company going - and keep staff employed.

The business had seen a 40% drop in turnover in the past year.

“Thanks to this 22 million which fell from the sky, I can keep my workers, put money into the business and pay my suppliers,” said the businessman, aged in his 50s.

His own lottery history has been extremely lucky (or unlucky): he won 50,000 francs (7625 euros) twenty years earlier, and once missed out on the gros lot jackpot by one number.

The 22 million sum is the second highest won on the French Loto and will be used to protect the 40-year-old company.

Not all the plans are business. His shopping list also includes a new car, new home, jewellery for his wife and to help his children financially.

He also plans to keep playing.
