Village celebrates love and romance

Three days of love-themed events are under way in the appropriately-named Saint-Valentin

A LOVE-IN is under way in the tiny village of Saint-Valentin in Indre – and for the next three days love and romance will be the only thing happening.

There will be a wedding, three couples will renew their vows and coach loads of Japanese and Chinese tourists will join the crowds who come to the village to celebrate their love and hang notes on the "tree of love" in the "garden of love" in the village of 300 people.

There will also be a tea dance, a dinner-dance, exhibitions, and Miss France will make an appearance. There will be a special Mass, a tree will be planted, chocolates will be made, postcards and letters stamped with a special frank, and as if all that is not enough, there will also be a band playing romantic music in the streets.
