French resort to demo riots
Bob Craske ( Letters, November issue ) paints a dystopian picture of Britain and refers to “political vandalism and viciousness” and “a violent and polarised country”.
While there is no doubt that Brexit has polarised opinion, it is remarkable that the demonstrations for and against have been peaceful and almost devoid of any kind of violence.
That can hardly be said of France and the gilets jaunes phenomenon.
In the same issue, Nabila Ramdani referred to the riots in Paris and the millions of pounds of destruction caused, which she rightly described as a “disaster”.
