Patrick Findlay’s body was found at the foot of a cliff – his mother is calling for anyone who saw him to come forward

Patrick’s mother, Dinah, said investigators say it was an accident, but she has many unanswered questions

The family of a man found dead during a ski holiday in Haute-Savoie last year are still appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Early on March 31, 2022, the body of musician Patrick (Paddy) Findlay, 27, from Hertfordshire was found at the foot of a cliff.

Last known movements

He had been with a friend at the Social bar in Flaine and left to catch up with him as they were to take a funicular down to the White Pub in a lower area.

He left at 00:51, in a grey shirt, beige jacket and blue jeans.

He spoke on the phone with his friend at 00:55 saying he would be there “in a minute”, but the friend took the lift alone soon afterwards.

Mr Findlay checked his WhatsApp at 1:07 but when his friend called many times from 1:20, he did not reply.

Mother wants questions answered

His mother Dinah said investigators say it was an accident, but she has many unanswered questions.

She is asking anyone who saw her son after 00:55 to email on patrickinvestigation@hotmail.com

She asks in particular why he would take a path in “completely the wrong direction” then, despite having drunk only moderately, walk off through a dark wood and slip over a cliff at the end.
