Contrôle technique changes on way
Lack of reminders could lead to fines
Drivers face a tougher new contrôle technique for vehicles more than four years old in May but, as no reminders are sent out, some could face a fine of €135 for not getting it done.
The new-look test starts on May 20 and will last longer, be about 20% more expensive and will reject many more vehicles for ‘failures’ – with testers having 132 points to check giving a possible 467 failures, including 127 critical failures where the car cannot be used.
