Have fees changed for Kindle book downloads in English?
There has been no change concerning prices, VAT or other taxes in recent months for buying English Kindle books
Reader question: Have fees changed for English Kindle books downloaded from Amazon France?
No, there has not been any change. You may be wondering if new import fees have been introduced following Brexit.
We spoke to both Amazon and an expert on fiscal matters in publishing in France who told us that nothing has changed regarding either prices, VAT or other taxes in recent months.
Karen Politis Boublil, economics expert at national publishing union SNE, said: “This question might have arisen from a fear that Brexit may lead to higher prices.
“However, nothing has changed. There is more paperwork now regarding exports of books but no changes in terms of costs to the customer.”
Amazon UK also confirmed that digital goods are not impacted by Brexit-related fees. Buying English Kindle books should, therefore, be the same as before.
