Rich clients lead hotel revival

Rich foreign visitors helped boost the top end of France’s hotel industry in 2010

RICH foreign visitors helped boost the top end of France’s hotel industry in 2010, while two-star hotels and under continued to suffer, a survey has found.

The effect was felt most keenly in Paris, where revenues in four- and five-star hotels rose by 9.3 per cent, according to the study by Deloitte.

Across Europe, the average price of hotel rooms in major cities has dropped 11 per cent according to a survey by the Hogg Robinson Group.
