Ile-de-France: Navigo pass now used in 300 cinemas, theatres and more

Almost four million users of the transport pass can now use it to gain access - and get discounts, offers and gifts - at hundreds of participating venues

Residents in Ile-de-France can now use their Navigo transport card to enter and get discounts to more than 300 cultural attractions in the region.

This applies to the four million people who hold a Navigo monthly, annual, Liberté +, Senior or Imagine R pass, regional transport body’ Île-de-France Mobilités confirmed. The Navigo Easy, Jour and Découverte passes are not part of the scheme.

To gain access, users can scan their pass at the entrance to participating cinemas, theatres or museums.

Using the Navigo pass will also grant access to discounts, offers, free tickets for carers, welcome gifts and restaurant deals.

Participating venues include:

  • 147 independent cinemas (but not the UGC, MK2, Gaumont, or Pathé chains)
  • 63 museums (including Orsay, Pompidou, and le Quai-Branly)
  • 52 theatres and performance venues (such as the Paris Opera)
  • 26 cultural centres
  • 12 festivals (including Rock en Seine, and We Love Green)

Most of the venues are within Paris and the surrounding area, but there is a small selection outside of the immediate city region.

A full list of participating venues is set to be available on the ’Île-de-France Mobilités website, and will be updated consistently.

The new scheme comes from Valérie Pécresse, current president of the Ile-de-France region and presidential election candidate.

It is part of a move to get people back onto public transport and in cultural venues post-pandemic as visitor rates dropped during the health crisis, prompting some to fear a sharp rise in access prices in the coming months.
