Including re-entry into the customs union and restored EU rights
Post-Brexit, Britons face restrictions on travel to EU countries

To the Editor,
Thanks for the opportunity presented in Nick Inman’s recent article to offer a wish list of items to be included in a Brexit reset.
Here are the issues I would like to see addressed:
– Joining the Customs Union to facilitate borderless and tariff-free trade;
– Reinstatement of my European citizenship, which was taken away from me without my consent;
– The right for all European citizens (including Britons, see above) to move freely between all EU countries and the UK.
– Personally, I would also like to see the UK rejoin the political union, but I recognise that is not currently up for discussion.
Until such time as that is possible, I recognise that it would mean the UK having to accept the EU rules regarding movement of people and goods without the opportunity to be involved in their formulation.
Such a move could be construed as a loss of the nebulous term 'sovereignty' but it would have the real benefits that accrue from free movement and being part of the largest trading bloc in the world.

To the Editor,
Regarding any kind of civilised Brexit reset, I would like to see property owners from pre-2016 (we have had a property for 35 years!) entitled to free long-stay visas automatically.
We have paid into the country for many years, and kept this property for our retirement.
