350km of jams as school break ends
'Orange' alert in place for Sunday as Paris and Bordeaux families return home from the spring holidays
SEVERAL hundred kilometres of traffic jams are expected on the French road network this weekend as the last of the spring school holidays come to an end.
Families in Zone C - the Ile-de-France and south-west - will be returning home, prompting an "orange" alert by official traffic monitor Bison Futé.
Delays are particularly likely in the Bourgogne on Saturday and on the main roads leading into Bordeaux and Paris on Sunday.
The "orange" alert means up to 350km of tailbacks are likely on motorways nationwide.
Check the traffic conditions where you are at the Bison Futé website.
