Air France protest over Morocco joke

Passengers take legal action over comments made by pilot from Casablanca to Paris

A GROUP of Air France passengers are taking legal action against the airline claiming one of its pilots made a joke about the Moroccan king over the public address system.

A court in the Paris suburb of Bobigny will hear the case later this month. The incident is alleged to happened on a flight from Casablanca to Paris on December 5.

Reports say the flight was delayed because King Mohammed VI's private jet was using the airport. The pilot is said to have apologised for the delay and asked unhappy passengers to complain directly to the royal household.

Some passengers united to complain about the remarks and wrote to the chief executive of Air France, Alexandre de Juniac. They have begun legal action to obtain the audio from the flight recorder.

Air France said in its response that it regretted the incident.
