Air France strike postponed
Pilots call for national walkout on November 14-17; rail strike still planned from tomorrow night.
A STRIKE by Air France cabin crew has been postponed until December, but unions have called on all French pilots to walk out in November.
The pilots’ union SNPL has called the strike in protest at plans to raise their retirement age to 65.
Staff at Air France had planned to walk out today during the Toussaint holidays but this action has been delayed until December to give more time to negotiations.
Train drivers will begin their strike this evening from 20.00 in protest at plans by the SNCF to extend new contracts.
While minimum service legislation is in place, the SNCF does not know how many drivers intend to take part.
Services will begin running again on Friday morning but disruption could last longer.
