Air traffic strike closes airports

Hundreds of flights are cancelled and several regional airports closed because of French air traffic controllers' strike

FIVE French airports are closed today and hundreds of flights across the country cancelled due to a strike by air traffic controllers.

There are no flights landing or taking off from Pau, Biarritz, Grenoble, La Rochelle and Chambéry because of the industrial action.

Half of flights serving Paris Orly airport are cancelled - mostly short and medium-haul routes - and 25% of services using Charles de Gaulle are not running.
