Two American tourists have told how they mistakenly ended up on a flight to Tunis (Tunisia) instead of to Nice (France) after their request for tickets ‘to Nice’ was misunderstood. They shared their whole experience on social media.

TikTok-user Brittney Dzialo posted a video on Sunday (September 7) of the moment she and her friend realised they had boarded a plane to the wrong destination.

After missing their original flight to the south of France, the pair asked an EasyJet airline worker in Rome Fiumicino to book them onto a different plane “to Nice”. They were however misunderstood, and instead found themselves with tickets to Tunis.

A Tunisair flight attendant can be heard in the video clip advising the women to change flights upon arrival in Tunisia in order to reach France.

“The whole plane witnessed our spiral and either found it entertaining or hated us,” read the caption of a later video.

The women have not yet responded to comments asking why they did not read their boarding passes or the signs at their departure gate, which would have clearly stated the destination of the flight.

Millions of views on social media

Upon arriving in Tunis, Ms Dzialo continued to share news regarding their situation as millions of people followed along with their live TikTok updates.

One particular video shows the girls speaking into an internet translator app in an attempt to explain their situation to airport staff.

“After the last supervisor said it was impossible to leave, I had a feeling to go try one more time… the new supervisor got us on a flight (that we had to pay for) and had the captain hold the entire plane for us,” reads another post.

A video published on September 8 confirmed the women have now arrived in Nice, where they will be staying for a month.

“Guys, we made it. I don’t know how, especially in a country where they don’t understand English. I don’t wish this upon any enemy. It was the craziest, most horrible experience of my life,” the women told their followers.

They said they now plan to go to Monaco, go to the beach, and go on a yacht.
