Angelina and Brad marry in France
Hollywood star couple wed at their Var chateau after children urge them to tie the knot
CELEBRITY Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have married in a ceremony in the Chateau Miraval chapel on their Var estate.
The wedding took place last weekend but news was only released to Associated Press at lunchtime today once the couple had left Nice Airport, bound for Malta where Mrs Pitt is filming.
Their six children took part in Saturday’s wedding and it was reportedly at their urging that the couple tied the knot.
Angelina was given away by their eldest sons Maddox and Pax, while Zahara and Vivienne spread rose petals in front of the couple and Shiloh and Knox carried the rings.
However, it is not known if the couple went through with a full French marriage ceremony, as the Associated Press report had said that the couple used a California judge to carry out the ceremony.
The maire of local commune Correns could not be contacted this afternoon.
Angelina, 39, and Brad, 50, have been together for nine years since they met on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith. They bought 400-hectare Chateau Miraval in 2008
It is Angelina’s third marriage after actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton and Brad’s second after Jennifer Aniston.
