Bid to simplify business red tape

"Simplification commissioner" to try to reduce the legal and administrative burden on firms

THE GOVERNMENT has appointed a "simplification commissioner" to try to reduce the legal and administrative burden on businesses.

Rémi Bouchez will be responsible for looking at new laws going through parliament and assessing the impact they will have on firms.

The Confédération Générale des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises welcomed the move. It says too many laws are coming into force that affect businesses, without business owners being fully aware of what is involved.
