Biker caught riding at 230kph

Motorcycle police chase 33 year old on motorway before he is caught after passing school at 160kph

A BIKER has been charged after fleeing police in a 230kph chase on the A15 motorway to the north-west of Paris.

The 33 year old rider had been spotted speeding on the motorway - on a section where the speed limit was 110kph - but refused to stop at a police checkpoint near Franconville and sped off; committing a whole new catalogue of offences in the process.

* Riding on the hard shoulder
* passing traffic on the right
* riding the wrong way on a roundabout
* speeding past a school at 160kph
* having no numberplate on his motorcycle

He was chased by CRS motorcycle police and after leaving the autoroute at Sannois (Val d'Oise) was eventually caught at Argenteuil. His motorbike was later found hidden nearby.

It was fitted with a video camera and police suspect he had been filming himself speeding when caught.

Now they have started a search of his house to see if he has previously filmed himself on the bike. He has been charged with road offences and will appear at court in Pontoise in October.

In January a 34 year old Hérault biker was jailed for two weeks at Montpellier after filming himself doing 299kph on the A750. He was caught after putting the video on YouTube. The judge banned him for six months and ordered his Kawasaki bike seized.
