Buckwheat flour packets recalled due to pesticide risk
Packets of buckwheat flour under the “U” brand are being recalled due to a risk of pesticide residues at levels higher than the permitted amount.
The problem packets of the flour - called farine de sarrasin in French - will have the batch number CS3L533 or CS3L534, and a use-by date of December 7, 2018.
They will also show the code GENCOD: 3256222250427.
The product is being recalled due to a risk of the presence of pesticide traces at levels higher than regulations allow.
Anyone who has any packets of flour matching this description is invited to take them back to the shop they were bought from, where a refund will be offered.
This recall is the latest in a series of similar incidents.
Just two days ago, a batch of Reblochon cheese sold in Leclerc supermarkets was recalled due to a risk of E.coli poisoning; and in February, packets of ham were removed from supermarkets shelves due to a risk of listeria.

Similarly, in April, batches of Camembert were recalled as “a precaution” due to fear of E.coli; and in February, more than 16,000 KitchenAid kettles were recalled from shelves in France, due to fears that the handles were at risk of “becoming loose and causing injury”.
