CGT union loses out to CFDT in elections
For the first time, the CFDT union is France’s No1 union in private industry, ahead of the CGT, in placings based on workplace elections.
The CFDT, which is seen as reformist and social-democrat, took 26.4% of votes and the CGT 24.9% of the 5.6million who voted.
