Cheap fares for June rail travel
SNCF will put 50,000 discount tickets on sale next week for its Intercités long distance trains
THE SNCF is cutting the price of 50,000 rail tickets for journeys taking place before the big summer getaway in July.
The Intercités (long-distance non-TGV) tickets go on sale next Tuesday, May 19, until June 1 - and the travel dates available are from May 22 to June 29.
Tickets are priced at just €15 for travel between French towns including Bordeaux, Caen, Clermont-Ferrand, Deauville, Limoges, Montpellier, Marseille, Nice, Toulouse and Paris.
Some of the shorter routes are cheaper still, with a number of Paris-Rouen tickets going on sale for just €10.
The discount fares will be available from SNCF ticket offices, the rail operator's website or by calling 3635.
