Christmas rail strike under way

Intercités, overnight and TER services affected by strike on December 24 and 25.

TRAVELLERS hoping to make a last-minute getaway for the Christmas holiday face rail disruption today - and tomorrow - because of a strike by SNCF workers.

Intercités, overnight and TER services could be hit, but the rail operator says TGVs should operate normally.

The SNCF is advising passengers to check www.sncf.com and www.infolignes.com before travelling, or to call 0805 903 635.

Passengers with a valid ticket on December 24 or 25 can travel on any train. Alternatively they can cancel the ticket at no cost.
