French actress gives authentic voice to Roxane in new theatre production

FRENCH Harry Potter actress Clémence Poésy is taking France to Broadway this autumn when she plays Roxane in Cyrano de Bergerac.

Known for her work as Fleur Delacour in the Potter films, she joins Douglas Hodge in the title role of the 1897 Edmond Rostand play at New York's American Airlines Theatre.

Hodge is a Tony Award winner for La Cage aux Folles and starred in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood.

Produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company, it features a new translation by Ranjit Bolt and Roundabout describes it as an "enduring masterwork with some of the wittiest lines ever written for the stage".

Cyrano will preview on September 14 and open on October 11 until November 25.

Clémence Poésy starred in three Potter films: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (1 and 2, directed by David Yates) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
