Concert for hidden heroes of attacks
12,000 members of emergency services and other groups invited to ‘thank you’ arena gig
THE hidden heroes of Paris, first responders, hospital workers and other emergency services, have been guests of honour at a special concert.
Up to 12,000 members of the armed forces, police, surgeons, doctors and nurses who worked during the November 13 attacks were invited to the concert last night in the AccorHotels Arena in Paris.
Performers Zaz, Benabar and the singers of Stars 80 took part in the show which was organised on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior, Ville de Paris and the hospitals of Paris.
The evening was presented by Nikos Aliagas, the host of Star Academy, who thanked the crowd saying: “We are proud of you and express our gratitude.”
“Paris was very lucky to be able to count on you. We will never forget it,” he added.
Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve and Health Minister Marisol Touraine were also present.
