Cotillard France's best-paid star

Inception star earned €2.35m in 2010, just ahead of Jean Dujardin, making her the first actress to top the list

MARION Cotillard has topped a list of France's highest-paid cinema stars, compiled by le Figaro.

Her earnings of €2.35m in 2010 from Inception and Les Petits Mouchoirs made her the first woman at the top of the list.

In second place was Jean Dujardin with €2.3m and Kad Merad with €2.25m.

The only other woman to make it into the top ten was Vanessa Paradis whose earnings of €1.3m put her in tenth place.

Le Figaro compiled the list, ahead of this weekend's César awards, from actors who had starred in a full-length film in 2010. The earnings, it says, are gross pay, before tax and social charges.
