Covid-19 France: lowest number of daily new deaths
France has registered its lowest number of daily deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of confinement with 70 people recorded as having died from the virus in the 24 hours from Saturday to Sunday.
There have been 26,380 deaths since the start of the pandemic in France - 16,642 at hospitals and 9,738 in care homes. These figures do not include the number of deaths from the virus in private homes.
22,569 people were recording on Sunday as being at hospital, against 22,614 the day before with 2,776 patients in intensive care, compared to 2,812 on Saturday.
The map, which is presented every day to show the evolution of the virus has four regions (Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Grand Est and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) and 32 departments still in red indicating that the virus is still circulating actively there and there is a risk of overcrowding at local hospitals.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 139,063 cases recorded in France with 56,217 people going into hospital care but later being released.
