Covid-19: France-UK ferries, trains not yet affected

It is thought that transport could be strongly affected by this, however companies state they are coping well so far.

Here we look at how the companies are handling the situation.

Brittany Ferries

Brittany Ferries is not affected so far by the coronavirus. However, the company reminds travellers to follow advice from the government.

A spokesperson for the company said: “There is no problem with travel at the moment. We are still at stage two [of the epidemic], and we are following instructions from the government. We remain vigilant. Employees and passengers have to follow official instructions.”

DFDS

DFDS services from France to UK and UK to France are running as usual. The company says there are no special recommendations regarding its ferry services at present. However information is being provided to all passengers about hygiene procedures and precautions to prevent the spread of infection.

P&O Ferries

P&O ferries says its services are also not affected.

Eurotunnel

Eurotunnel reports that it is not affected and says it is following the government’s advice. Travellers are also reminded that their tickets remain flexible and can be used for a full year, and any exchange can be made at least one day before departure.

Eurostar + SNCF

SNCF services are working as usual. The national train company reminds passengers to follow hygiene procedures and advice from the French government.

Eurostar services are not affected.

The company stated: “There are no travel restrictions in place across the countries across our network. We remain in contact with the authorities and, should guidance change, we will publish any further updates and contact customers”.
