Deadline day for income tax
Paper tax returns must be posted today - but if you are registered to file online you have slightly longer
TODAY is the deadline for filing your 2009 paper tax return in France - but if you are registered to file online you have some extra time.
Completed forms must be posted by midnight.
If you live in a department numbered from 1 to 19, you have until the end of June 10 to file online.
The deadline for departments 20 to 49 is a week later, on June 17. Departments 50 and above must file online by June 24.
If this is your first time declaring online, you will also get a €20 discount on your tax bill (avis d'imposition) which will be sent out around the end of August.
Our income tax helpguide is still available to download as a PDF, priced €5, from this link.
The guide also explains when and how to pay.
The forms you need to fill in can be found at impots.gouv.fr
