Disneyland on hunt for 8,000 workers
The theme park is running a major recruitment drive tomorrow and Saturday for its summer season and for permanent jobs
DISNEYLAND Paris plans to hire up to 8,000 people in 2014 and is launching its recruitment drive tomorrow with a two-day event at Boulogne-Billancourt, west of Paris.
It expects to fill between 6,000 and 7,000 temporary positions, plus 1,000 permanent full-time jobs, of which 200 will go to young people under the age 26. A minimum of 25 positions will be offered to séniors.
There are also 1,500 places for students seeking internships, half of which will be paid.
Vice President of the company’s HR department, Daniel Dreux said: "This event is an ideal opportunity to find the employees we need for our summer season and for our development.”
In addition to language skills, applicants must want “to work in a world of strong interaction with visitors,” Mr Dreux said.
He said Disneyland Paris, which is located east of the capital in Marne-la-Vallée, has bucked the trend during the economic downturn, creating between 250 to 300 new jobs each year.
He added: “We believe employee motivation is a driving force in the development of our business.” The company has even called on current staff members to be part of the latest recruitment drive.
“Who better than our employees to talk about our businesses and pass on to others the desire to join us?” said Mr Dreux.
The event is at Karé, 45 Bis Avenue Édouard Vaillant, and will run from 9.00-18.00 daily.
