Euroferries claims route ‘imminent’
Ramsgate port confirms work underway but no comment from Boulogne on arrangements with ferry company
EUROFERRIES’ Ramsgate to Boulogne ferry service, due to start April, remains unconfirmed.
While the ferry company website says a service is imminent, the port of Boulogne will still not confirm any arrangements or any engineering works.
A spokeswoman said: “We have had discussions with them but we still don’t know if it will happen or not. There are no particular improvements going on at the port.”
Euroferries said it would be launching the service at the end of last month, with tickets available on its site from mid-March.
Tickets are not on sale and the start date has not been confirmed.
The firm states the delay is due to minor engineering works taking place at the ports to ensure “fast turnaround time” and the crossings are “imminent.”
A spokeswoman for the port of Ramsgate said: “Discussions are still ongoing. Some work has been done – like dredging the port slightly to make it habitable for a passenger ferry.”
