F1 star’s ‘medical records’ for sale

Seller claims documents come from Michael Schumacher’s notes during his five-months in hospital in Grenoble

MEDICAL records that, it is claimed, detail Michael Schumacher’s treatment in hospital in Grenoble following his skiing accident have offered for sale for €48,000.

Sabine Kehm, of the Formula 1 legend’s management team confirmed that his medical records had been stolen, but could not say whether the documents that are for sale are genuine.

But, she warned against the purchase and publication of the documents, saying that “criminal charges would be brought against any publication of the content or reference to the medical file”.

According to German newspaper Bild, the file has been offered to the media. It has been reported that, although not certain, it is “probable” they had been stolen from the hospital in Grenoble.

Last week, it was announced that Mr Schumacher was no longer in a coma and had left the French hospital where he had been treated since his skiing accident five in December.
