Family sues over air pollution in France

A mother and her daughter have filed a complaint against the government for the lack of measures against the pollution – asking for a compensation of €160,000.

Farida, 52, and her daughter, 16, have suffered from bronchitis and asthma and have been forced to move from Paris outskirts to Orléans, after their doctor told them to do so for their health.

Air pollution kills around 48,000 people every year in France, and 50 other people are now suing the government.
