Fighting for autism rights
I FELT compelled to write, having just read your article: “Horror of way autistic children are cured” (Connexion, March). May I suggest that any concerned parent refers to the UK National Autistic Society (www.autism.org.uk). The site is extremely userfriendly and will help people understand the very latest thinking. A useful book to read for teachers and parents is Autism in the Early Years, by Val Cumine, Julia Dunlop and Gill Stevenson. Armed with this knowledge in English, you may be in a better position to fight for your child's rights in France.
