France upgrades Turkey to amber travel list and red list is expanded
Afghanistan, the Maldives and Paraguay are now on the red list, meaning no one from there can travel to France without an essential reason

France has moved Turkey from red to amber on its travel list, meaning that people there who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 can now enter France without an essential reason.
They will still need to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test. People who are not fully vaccinated cannot enter without an essential reason (and a negative PCR test).
12 reasons unvaccinated people can visit France from an amber country
Afghanistan, the Maldives and Paraguay have been moved onto the red list, meaning that no one can enter France from there without an essential reason.
The other countries on France’s red list are: Argentina, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Nepal, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Suriname, and Uruguay.
The updates were made yesterday (June 17) and come into effect immediately.
France also moved the US and Canada onto its green list.

Also on the green list are: All 27 EU member states, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, the Vatican, Australia, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea.
All other countries are amber.
A country’s colour-coding also sets rules for travel from France to that destination, but travel also depends on what rules the country in question may also have set.
See below our checklist for requirements for people travelling to France from green, amber and red countries and people travelling from France to green, amber and red countries.
Note that the rules of the country people are travelling from also apply - there are two sets of rules for every trip.
