French supermarkets recall tinned sardines over glass fears
Auchan and Carrefour supermarkets are recalling cans of sardines over concerns that they may contain glass.
The batches affected have the numbers 04 2025/ S00970164, 04 2025/ S00970183 and 04 2025/ S00970205; the bar codes are 3 263670 126730 and 3 263670 126716.
The affected 135g canned sardines with Cayenne pepper are from the brand Connétable and are sold individually or in packs of three. No information has been given on how the glass got in the cans.
Auchan and Carrefour advise shoppers who have bought any of the tins to not consume them but to take them back to the shop where they bought them from for a refund.
The Chancerelle cannery which owns the Connétable brand has given a phone number, 02 30 14 02 00, for customers who have queries. Customers can call from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 12:00 and 13:30 and 16:30 or email conso@chancerelle.com.
