How to send parcels from home via La Poste

France’s postal service La Poste allows you to send parcels by depositing them in your own letter box, as well as creating your own postage stamps from home. All you need is access to a printer.

Sending a parcel from your letter box

First you need to create a Colissimo label. You can do that for free on La Poste’s website here.

You will have to provide details of your parcel, such as its weight and the address of the sender and receiver.

Once you have your label, you print it off and stick it to your parcel.

Then La Poste’s website allows you to arrange for it to be collected by your postal worker.

You can do that here.

You must do this before 23:00 the day before you wish to send the parcel. Once you have done this, you should put your parcel in your letterbox before 08:00 on the day you have arranged for it to be picked up.

Your postal worker will leave you a notice of collection when taken.

Sending a parcel within France will cost a minimum of €4.95.
