Hundreds of dachshunds to descend on Paris next week

Hundreds of dachshunds will take to the streets on October 4 as Paris hosts its seventh Paris Sausage Walk.
The dogs and their owners will take part in a free 1.4km charity walk, which will take place on the Champs-Élysées for the first time.
Participants will meet from 10:00 at the top of the avenue, with the walk starting at 11:00.
The route will go down the Champs-Élysées to the Rond-Point before returning to the starting point. The event is expected to finish at around 13:00.
The walk is free and open to everyone, whether or not they own a dachshund, and coincides with World Animal Day.
The event has been inspired by the London sausage walk (Hyde Park Sausage Walk) and raises money for Teckels Sans Doux Foyer, an association that cares for abandoned and mistreated dachshunds and helps them find new homes.
Anyone wanting to attend is asked to complete an online questionnaire, with one response per household.
This is not a registration but is intended to help organisers estimate the number of participants.
