Man jailed after helicopter ‘superzooms’ bare behind

A Toulouse tribunal found the man guilty of ‘outraging public authority’ for the stunt, which took place in January, when a gendarmerie helicopter was flying over Frouzins (Haute-Garonne, Occitanie), as part of an anti-burglary operation.

The man, who allegedly believed the gendarmerie would not be able to catch him in the act, began putting his middle finger up to the helicopter before dropping his trousers, reported local newspaper La Dépêche du Midi.

Unfortunately for the man in question, the military helicopter carries a super-powerful zoom on its camera, which is capable of reading a license plate on a vehicle from several kilometres away, and taking photos.

Suffice to say, it was also able to see the man’s unpleasant behaviour and to identify and take photos of his face and offending actions.

The man did not deny his actions and was sentenced by the judge on Wednesday December 20.
