Mayor bans residents from dying at home
The mayor of Laigneville, Oise, has issued a decree “prohibiting Laignevillois from dying at home.”
The symbolic act, which he admits is “absurd” and would never make it into law, was intended to highlight the lack of doctors in what he calls a “medical desert.” The town’s two doctors retire this year with no replacements in place.
