Midi-Pyrénées on flood warning
Two southern departments have been placed on an orange flood alert due to melting snow in the Pyrenees.
THE departments of Haute-Garonne and Hautes-Pyrénées in the Midi-Pyrénées have been placed on orange alert due to flood risks.
This weather warning level (higher than green or yellow, lower than red) means dangerous weather is expected and care should be taken.
The warnings relate to areas near the Garonne and the Gave de Pau rivers. The flood risk is linked to rapidly melting snow in the Pyrenees and to heavy rainfall.
