THE majority of ministers in France's new government have picked French destinations for their summer break - after President Hollande urged them to "stay mobilised" during their holidays and be prepared to return to Paris if events dictate.
François Hollande himself will spend part of his break at the presidential residence Brégançon in the Var.
Brittany is a popular choice this year, led by prime minister Jean-Marc Ayrault who is holidaying in the Morbihan with his family. Sports minister Valérie Fourneyron is in London for the Olympics until mid-August and will then head to Brittany too.
Benoît Hamon is in the Pyrénées-Orientales and women's minister Najat Vallaud-Belkacem in the Landes. Education minister Vincent Peillon, transport minister Frédéric Cuvillier and tourism minister Sylvia Pinel are all holidaying in Corsica.
Justice minister Christiane Taubira will return to her native Guyana and overseas minister Victorin Lurel to his old home in Guadeloupe. Junior education minister George Pau-Langevin will also spend 10 days in Guadeloupe.
